Celebrations commemorating the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Vietnam were held on February 5th 2010 in Warsaw. The celebrations were hosted by MFA Secretary of State Jan Borkowski and attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Poland Nguyen Van Xuong. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that Poland has sent 38 short-term observers under the international observation mission to Ukraine’s presidential election runoff, due to take place on February 7th 2010. The international election observers have been registered by Kiev’s Central Election Commission. The first round of Ukraine’s elections, which was held on January 17th 2010, was observed by 25 Foreign Ministry observers. [more]

6th Polish Jordanian Business Forum convenes

 The 6th Polish Jordanian Business Forum convened Sunday in a bid to increase the volume of trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The forum hosted officials from Jordan and Poland, and representatives from 30 Polish companies and around the same number of Jordanian enterprises with their various products on display. Industry and Trade Minister Amer Hadidi, who inaugurated the forum, voiced hope that the gathering will yield fruit in enhancing bilateral relations, especially in the areas of investment and trade. ..[» more]



 

Library instils reading culture among Anjara residents

 ANJARA - Eleven-year-old Aramis Ayoub barely read a book before the Anjara library opened in 2008. "We had no books here, there was no library in Anjara. I was never really interested," he told The Jordan Times yesterday. Now a voracious reader, Ayoub said he has gone through every storybook in the library since it was established 18 months ago. The visit from the Speaker of the Senate Bogdan Borusewicz in Jordan

 On the 12th - 13th June 2009, the Polish Senate Speaker Bogdan Borusewicz visited Jordan during his official visit in the Middle East (before Jordan he traveled to Egypt, Israel and Palestinian Autonomy). During the first day of the visit he met with Polish representatives (about 100 people) in the Polish Embassy. In honour of him a piano music concert was organized. During the meeting the chief of the first Polish Association In Jordan, established in May 2009, Mrs. Maria Halaseh, informed about the Association establishment and passed to Mr. Borusewicz its official statute more 



The Regional Conference of Economical Councillors from the North African and Middle Eastern Countries

 Between the 8th and 9th May 2009, the The Regional Conference of Economical Councillors from the North African and Middle Eastern Countries took place in Amman, organized by Polish Embassy in Jordan and the Department of Foreign Economical Policy of the Ministry of  Foreign Affairs. The following countries participated in the conference: Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunis and the United Arab Emirates Polish Ambassador Robert Rostek from Qatar and Charge d'Affaires Stanisław Smoleń from Iraq took part in the conference. Charge d'Affaires Krzysztof Bojko and the councilor Janusz Janke took part on behalf of the Polish Embassy and on the behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Director of DZPE Wojciech Ponikiewski and the Deputy of the Director DZPE Grzegorz Gawin attended more

Prince Mired visiting Poland

 HRH Prince Mired Raad Al-Hussein visited Warsaw, in his capacity as Chairman of the 8th Meeting of States Parties to the Ottawa Convention,  to promote the prohibition of antipersonnel landmines. HRH the Prince was interviewed by Rzeczpospolita daily. An article by HRH Prince Mired on his mission to Poland was published  in the same newspaper . [» more]
